PriMMed is our new name, and our new pain management clinic in Southwest Las Vegas is now open and helping us better serve our patients. With the changes having fully deployed, we wanted to reintroduce some of the clinic team members responsible for our patients’ well being while under our care.

Camela Maupin, PA-C brings more than 20 years of professional health care experience to our team of providers, having started her career in orthopedics and sports medicine as a Certified Athletic Trainer. She worked with amateur and professional athletics in multiple venues and honed her skills in health and wellness at the highest levels.

“Many pain-related challenges our patients have come from either active participation in sports, or from injuries from sports earlier in their lives”, said Carmela Maupin. “I’m proud to be part of a team where I can apply my experience and expertise in sports medicine to improve people’s lives.”

Camela provided orthopedic evaluations and treatment protocols for youth, high school, college, and professional athletes at both National and International tournaments and championships. Additionally, Camela was the provider for daily care at multiple Las Vegas multi-million dollar production shows at MGM Resorts International properties.

“My experience helping world-class athletes has helped me gain a more complete understanding of how injuries occur and the best ways to treat them to mitigate risk for the development of chronic pain,” said Maupin. “At PriMMed, and in our new practice facility, I apply the same expertise and techniques for our patients that I did for the best athletes in the world.”

Carmela is able to do this through the unique foundation of practical experience that guided her to a career in nursing where she earned her Bachelors of Science, Nursing from the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB). She was also selected to work as an elite nurse on the renowned UAB Hospital Renal Transplant Unit.
